Newbie looking for some advice

My names Dan and over the last 5 years I basically have been doing 0 training or dieting, slowly piling on pounds.

I have been working out for 2 weeks and dieting for 6 week.

I'm on a high fat, high protein and minimum carb diet and I have gone down from 248 to 225. I'm turning those ketostix purple and intend to keep doing so!

For the last 2 weeks i've built up doing 20 mins of kettle bell cardio (12kg) and 8x3mins hitting a punchbag at home, training in 1 session per day after work.

Can anyone recommend any supplements both nutritional or chemical that is going to help me get my body fat right down. Also what is an ideal body fat % because I know BMI is not the best indicator.

Thanks guys!

Not the answer you probably want but focus on the diet and add weight lifting into your program. I wouldnt recommend any chems but I don't think you could go wrong with a good protein powder, and green tea/coffee (caffeine) pre-workout could help. Even an actual Pre-workout supplement might help.
I personally would shoot for ~13%bf then try a clean bulk. Either way good job so far and just stick with it. The consistency will give you the best results while your still a newbie.

If I can stay anabolic free and get lean that'd be awesome so more than happy to hear that. When you say weight lifting, would you recommend olympic style cleans for example?

If you have no lifting experience I wouldn't do the oly lifts until you have some one to teach them as they are very technique dependant.(I rarely do them) I'm personally a fan of the big 3. Dead lift, squat, and bench press. Although I stick with an incline bench because of a shoulder injury. Do a little searching and you can find some good beginner strength programs and every one needs a good foundation of strength.
