If you walked into Nazareth Barbell and said "i want to powerlift" we would have you dragging and doing other GPP movements 6 days a week.

i dissagree completely. g.p.p is something that you easy into. you dont just throw a shitload on someone. so cheesecake jumps in to powerlifting, he will be working out 4 times per week. and you want him to start right off the bat hitting g.p.p 6 times a week............. sorry my friend, but i see piss poor gains, and overtraining as the result.

cheesecake went from bench pressing 155lbs to 200lbs in just 9 weeks, no equipment, or steriods......... i call that a pretty big gain.

cheesecake has always been a big ole farm boy. he has weighed over 250lb since before he could legally drive. and that was a decade ago.

his squat went from 225 to 290 in the same 9 weeks. as well as a big deadlift increase.

IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT!!!

and whats the most weight you have ever put on your back for any exercise???? say it was 600lbs...... then for the same equivilent you would have to have put on 840lbs..... now you tell me after unracking that and holding it for 10 seconds...... you might be a little out of it.

just look at it from outside the box......

I can static hold 840 until the cows come home. BFD.

The kid is so deconditioned its a disgrace. My GF smokes his total and shes 132#body builder . Maybe some more body fat will help. Who knows? But i doubt it. And yes he should be doing something gpp related 6 days a week.

could you hold 840 untill the cows come home after 4 months of training????

how long has your bodybuilder girlfriend been working out. did she play sports before she worked out???

I'm trying to understand here, so if I sound ignorant, it's because I am.

You mentioned that my coefficient was too low, and it is. However, regardless of what BF% I am, I'm still a big boy. I would think that I could possibly compete in the 242s if my BF was under 10%. If I did though, my strength would suffer.

So, is it more important to get your coefficient up or your total up?

I do agree that I should be doing more GPP work. I'm not sure that I have time to do it 6 days a week, but I have some ideas (thanks to slobberknocker) to get more in.

There has to be a better way to make your point BigWh1tey rather than using the verbage you have used in the above statement???.......................................

Cheesecake puts everything into his training. He is learning EVERY DAY how to get stronger, improve his form, ett...etc...
He is improving with each training session as evident in all the videos he posts. He has clearly taken the steps to better himself.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few thoughts now;

Is your GF a member of the board?
Does she post her workouts and videos here?

If not

I don't give a flying ****. Noone else does either, except for you. for some reason you feel the need to put Cheesecake down and better yourself by bringing in an outside individual who in my estimation probably does not want to have anything to do with elite or she would have been posting already.

I respected you for your knowledge and insight to the iron game. After what you have just posted I have lost all respect for you. If you want to call someone names than YOU need to start posting workouts and videos of the same caliber.

I agree cheesecake could probably do more GPP without it even interfering with his training. Infact i bet it would make him stronger and up his work capacity quite a bit. you need to slowly introduce it though

Cheesecake is FAR from being a disgrace in any way. I dont know if he was offended by that...but I am offended by that.

im sure cheescake could do more g.p.p. work

however he does have a job working over 40 hours per week - which is a 25-30minute drive each way. where he works monday - saturday every week.

a second job as a youth pastor for a church. where he has to drive about 35-40minutes from his house. once on wednesday night and twice on sundays.

and is a full time student getting his Masters degree from school. which is an 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minute ride from home.

plus puts in the gym 4 nights a week.

plus is still a newlywed.

not making excuses, becuase its not about me. but cheesecake has a pretty damn full schedule.

i think he is doing quite well.

you put 99% of the population in that same situation, and i dont think any would be training as hard or learning as much.

I do have a pretty full plate (how about that for a metaphor), but that's no excuse.

I don't want to be like 99% of the population, I want to be part of that 0.01%. And I will be.

you missed it........ i was saying 99% of the population would not lift heavy and train and learn like you do. you are that .01%
