Isn't it sad how many men can just let go like that? My biological father did the same. What I cannot understand is, given the very inquisitive nature of a human being, why someone wouldn't need to know even a little bit about the person they helped bring into this world.

yes, I can't fathom the idea of not being involved in my own child's life. I think on my deathbed I would be TORTURED knowing I didn't contribute to my child's life in any positive way. Some people just lack empathy, though -- sociopaths, of sorts.
