Pretty good to make with vodka in them too and do some jello shots. Not that the Cosby kids or I know anything about jello shots though!! J-e-l-l-o

Haha I had many drunken nights with vodka jello lol I don't drink now prolly a good job coz the hangover thing is a killer.
 
I just literally laugh out loud and bout spewed diet dr pepper from my nose! Cracked me up you trying to sneak that video. Looks exactly like something I'd do!

Sorry about your joints D! I've gotta tell ya though..you look incredible! Rock hard body!! Outstanding!! So jealous!! Keep up the hard work!!

Thanks so much Jen it's the best thing ever when you guys big me up lol it's great for my ego haha. Also I sometimes don't see any difference as I look in the mirror a 1000 times a day lol so to hear other people say it means a lot. Thanks your a real treasure

On the shrugs remember to go back toward your waist also. So the motion is up and back. If you can do both up and back as one motion fine and if you have to make it two movements thats fine too.

And the shrugs lol tbh they gave me the same irate feeling that kick backs do but that's prolly just til I get used to them I can tel there going to be a great worker prolly just as good as rows for that particular muscle anyway. So thanks bro once again you saved my bacon lol.

Had some with my eggs and toast this morning.
LOL...
I think I have like 6 Lbs in the freezer. I should be the bacon king of ChiTown!
 
Not to worry sugazombie, I work out alone too.
The nice thing about that 5x5 is that you dont go to failure on your excersizes. So if you dont feel that you can do the weight for the full set of reps then just do what you feel pretty sure you can.

So lets just say that your benching 135, 5x5. You do your first set fine and feel strong, thats 1x5 and same on second set all good.

So now we are on our 3rd set and your starting to feel the weight. So you 1x4, that was set 3.

Then on your next set, set 4 you can only do one and your shot. Ok fine. STOP. Your done with bench for this time around.

Then next bench workout you work to improve each set from set 3 by 1 more rep. You do this till you get the 5x5 for your bench. Then you progress and add the appropriate weight.

This is frequently how I progress as I get up in the heavier weights.

Also those peeps at the counter are paid to be there to help you out. Dont be afraid to ask them for a spot if you want to. Its their job!

For you sugazombie there are no machines at your gym, Smith or otherwise.:evil:

Ok Zed I have taken all this in and made me feel tons better I totally get that sometimes its ok to drop a rep then take it from there next time. Thanks for that chief!!

I love it when you wake up ;)

Take it EASY on those joints... Especially if you've been on winnie. I totally agree with Zed about the gelatin (there are some good "joint support" powders they sell at Whole Foods here). I think also make sure your diet is on point and I'd get some Vitamin C (you need it with the gelatin to build cartilage and other joint tissues) if you're not already taking it. The water is a key point too.

Be careful benching without a spot. That's how I tore my rotator cuff a while back. Something to think about: when we train for strength our joints can't always keep up with our muscles. Your body is already sending you signals that you're at that boundary. You can still grow and get stronger without maxxing out every time. Focus on form. Lift safe. I need you to keep posting great workouts for a long time!!! ;p

I'm feeling a bit better now bout the benching as Zed said its ok don't push yourself I can miss a rep and take it from there next time. Also your right what you say bout my body giving me signs and that I don't have to max out every workout , that made me think yeah that's spot on its not like I'm in no hurry lol. I always push myself and now that you mention it I think may b a lil hard! ,
And yeah lol what do you mean I love it when you wake up lol I'm puzzled.

Actually on the 5x5 you dont max at all. I dont know when the last time wat that I maxed.

Yes..great post CB. Especially on cycle, we think we are super human but can do the damage too. It seems to be the message of the month for all of us...pay attention to our bodies and train smart. Patience. All that good stuff!!

Donna....loved your squat form. Looking great! :)
