need to lose weight for a job,,,,FAST!

I need some advice. I got hired for a job as a contractor overseas, but they told me the DoD started a weight standard, and are now using BMI. I leave on the 6th of Aug, and have to lose approx 30lbs. I know this isnt healthy, and I know the risks, so please spare me the lectures and just give me advice if you can. The only thing I can think of is fasting/starving, I am going to the gym in the mornings and evenings. I dont think I will actually have to make weight until the 12th, (hopefully) im 5'10 and 305, my BMI max says 283. so thats 22 lbs I need to lose. the only 'gear' i have access to is whatever GNC sells. again, I know I deserve to be flamed and ridiculed, but please give me some advice.

First off congrats on the contractor work. They pay very nicely for the civi work over there.
You are pushing a very very very tight deadline, and there is a very large chance that you're not gonna make that. My best advice is cut your calorie intake down to about 500-800 a day, only healthy food, do as much cardio as you can do without giving yourself a heartattack. Best of luck but please dont cause yourself to have health issues for this. If you start to have pains or start noticing your body is shutting down you need to go to the doctor asap.

You leave on the 6th but don't get weighed until the 12th? So you'll be overseas when they weigh you? What if you don't make weight then?!?

I've known wrestlers that have dropped 20 pounds or so for weigh ins in less than a week, so it can be done. Lose as much water weight as possible!

I have to go to Benning for a week of classes/paperwork, so Ill still be in the states when I weigh. I found a weight loss place that does the HCG diet, its based on an 800 calorie diet and the shots, so I will try that. The girl there said she has seen guys lose 20 pounds in a week,,,not many, but a couple. I want to save the water weight/sauna program until the last couple of days. Thanks for the response guys. Ill let you know how it works out.

Being in the military myself I know that you will probably get taped if you cant make weight. Alot of people do body wraps(contour wraps) to lose unwanted inches in many areas. They will tape your waist and then your neck take the difference and thats your body fat. I dont think your standards will be as high as ours. Best of luck to you brother but I would check this out before killing your self to lose that much weight.

Well the armys requirement is only 26%, if you cant make that then you got some issues going on. Marines and Airforce are a little bit tighter with the Corp being 18% and AF being 20%.

You definitely do not want to fast, this will actually slow your process down for losing weight. Your metabolism will slow down and then your screwed...Just get to the gym, eat sensible meals, and do some cardio 40 minutes a day

Not exactly. It will take sometime before your body starts trying to save all the food. He could fast for a week or two before it really starts slowing down.

Well, I went to the weight loss place Thursday afternoon (7/29), and weighed in at 310.2. They gave me the diet info, the HCG shots, a carb blocker and 35mg phendimetrazine, thurs diet was a bowl of grape nuts, and applebees 550 cal dinner, I didnt take any of the pills/shots on thursday. Friday morning I went to the Y to weigh my check luggage, (only allowed 45 pounds), so I decided to step on the scale, and it read between 305-306. I went back to the weight loss place to double check, and I weighed in at 306.4! So this morning I went back to the Y to after repacking my bag, and weighed myself again, and I was down to just under 302, and I havent started cardio yet. I dont expect to drop this much every day, and once I have all the errands ran, (medical, vaccines,eyes,dental..etc) ill be doing at least an hour of cardio in the morn, and an hour in the evening, and throw in a couple of sessions in the sauna before I fly out. As far as diet goes, im taking in about 500 to 800 cals a day, and drinking 3-1.5 litre bottles of water a day.
oh yea, im also using the Cellucor weight loss system.
thanks for the advice so far guys

I expected the rapid weight loss for a short time. Your BMR is probably a pretty high damn number with your weight being pretty high. So when your body is supposed to be having 3,500 calories a day and you drop it down to 500-800 you're body is going to start eating away at the fat. Now this isnt going to stay like this for long. Sometimes you can push 2 weeks out of this diet then you will have to convert back to a normal meal diet for about 3+weeks for your body to readjust, then you can start this diet again. This is how i went from 270 down to 220 in 3 months.

wow dude

sounds like you're in good shape to hit your goal

keep us updated, interested in this

for curiousness sake what will you be contracting for?

I made it. I had to sweat the last 7 or so pounds off in a sauna, but I made it. Thanks for the advice. The weight came off pretty quick, but I was holding at 298-300 for a few days, then dropped to 295, and couldnt drop any for 2 or 3 days,,then it dropped to 290, then I hit the sauna and cut the rest. HCG seems to work, but u cannot cheat on that shitty diet at all. Hopefully I wont have to deal with this again. again, thanks for the advice.

:stilleto:If you are still looking to lose fat and keep it off go visit facebook fanpage The Diet Solution Program 2012, there you will learn how to do it.

Hell, day 1 on his diet and he went to Applebee's. I'd say he weighs more by now than he did when he posted. Sorry, that's rude.. This poster above me just agitates me with this facebook promotion spam.

Okay you had me worried, but given the fact that you're so gosh darn overwieght, this is actually an easy one. Start with a 10 day herbal cleanse with insoluble fiber which targets the GI tract. Then do another one with soluble fiber to target the organs. You should have lost about 20 to 30 lbs of toxins and crap (literally) after that 20 day stretch and be able to digest food for the first time in years. From here you have about a month and some left, so get as much real food into yourself as possible. Not overeating, but if it looks like it could have recently been alive, eat it (fruit, vegetables, unprocessed beef/steak). If it's in a bag or if you can't tell what plant/animal it came from, avoid it. It's only 40 days, you can do it.
As far as exercise is concerned, you don't need to buy into the whole "run a ton" idea. The truth is your body will make itself lighter if it sees a need to be lighter, and so short fast bursts are probably going to be your friend moreso than endurance. Run like something is chasing you for about 20 seconds at a time whenever possible throughout the day. If you give your body a "need" to be fast, it'll start cutting weight to make "fast" possible. Good luck.

EDIT: Oops, I guess I missed the boat on this one. Didn't see that you already made the goal. Congrats.
