Ok here is the deal, I am taking this week off of lifting because I have just come off a long periodization workout and my joints and muscles need a rest. Well I have a bench press competition on September 15. After taking this week off that will give me 6 weeks to train not including the week of the comp. I need some ideas here. How should I train these next six weeks to allow myself to peak around that time? Also, how should I train the week of the comp? I usually do a heavy day on bench on Monday and light on Thursday but the comp will be on a Saturday. What should I do on the week of the comp? My shirt will be in this week as well so how should I start using it to get used to it? I also need to drop about 5 pounds, how can I do that without a loss of strength? I am going to compete at 165 and right now I weigh 169. Please help guys Im getting a little stressed about it. Im hoping this week off will clear my mind. Oh yea by the way I benched 330 last monday for a single touch and go with no shirt. How do you guys think i will do? Thanks guys and sorry for the long post.
