Hi
I am 31 6'2 187lbs and i just wanted to know one thing its been one week now since i started my new nutrition plan that a nutritionist made for me(6 meals a day,385g protein with a total 4100 cal.) i know its still early but is it normal that i lost 1 lbs since i started??? with everything i eat i cant believe it! but i feel stronger and i look stronger even after a week but how come i lost weight?

P.S. i train 4 days a week with 40 min cardio in 2 of those days.

RELAX its one pound. Im guessing its all water.

You should give that plan like 2-3 weeks to see how it works for you.

Don't worry about it. #'s are just numbers the composition (muscle/fat) of the pounds will vary... hell, you may gain weight but have looser fitting clothes and look way better in the mirror. Never go by the scale :coffee:

^^^^^GOOD BRO RIGHT THERE!!! :p

Agreed with dem 2 ^^^^^ :)

Not to worry as long as you're strength is going up. You are following a good workout I hope. Core lifts. Heavy weights?

If you're weight isn't going up by the end of the month then you might have to readjust some things in your diet or workout. But damn 4100 calories a day and losing a pound of scale weight. Wish my body was like that. :)

this thread has a whole bushel o' love in it.

(tears in da eyes, i'm tellin' ya.)

:)

Lotta good peeps in this thread :)

I agree with what the others had said .. When you switch from diet to diet, you body will respond to the new food you are eating & thus react ... You body is adjusting, and dependant on you, this can take 2-3 weeks (maybe 4) to accurately access how this diet is working for you. I would stick with a 2 week minimum to draw any conclusions...

That is alot of food... what is the goal here? Bulking? Putting on some muscle with minimal fat gain ? :)

What is the diet like, can you give us more specifics as to what foods you are eating? I.E. When I eat oatmeal, I am usually 4-5 lbs heavier (scale weight) than when I cut it out ...

Does this diet coincide with training? What are your goals?

Many different ways to gauge "progress" -- like they said - any change will have a transition period that may or may not show a trend or even make sense if you try to justify numbers. But let's look at what ways we can quantify progress:

- scale -- only tells you what the sum total of bone, fat, muscle & water is -- which one changed? Who knows?

- bodyfat % -- gives you some idea of change in lean muscle mass & bodyfat - but will have inherent inaccuracies with each method except hydrostatic testing. Otherwise the best way to use this measure is to look at your deltas between each measure (assuming each measure is as consistent as possible) and watch the trend.

- how your clothes fit -- you know how your stuff fits -- where it's usually tight, where its loose, where its getting looser.

- how you feel --- more energy? less energy? tired? wide-awake & focused? fuzzy in the brain? headache? how well do you sleep? And are these feelings consistent or sporadic?

And sometimes just better to not look for changes and they show up when you least expect it.
