My Worst Nightmare: The Intermediary Phase

So i started off a pretty skinny kid...i had decent definition but no size whatsoever. I've been bulking for a while and I've gained a good amount of mass while preserving tone. However, I am hitting the phase where I am losing definition as I gain more mass....but it will be years before I reach an adequate mass, so I have yet to cut. The worst look is not having size OR definition....i need at least one, preferably both....right now i am losing my assets, without getting enough in return. Should I cut periodically, or when I get to the mass I desire (which is years away). I am torn between two worlds....i need help. This ever happen to anyone else??

I have this problem sometimes as well!! I'll go through periods where I just need to be lean and toned - so I go crazy with my diet and increase my cardio etc., - then I'll feel like a skinny little punk - and I'll start training for mass again.....I think this cyclical process is a necessary part of bodybuilding - so don't let it get you down!! If you're feeling discouraged I say go on a cutting cycle.....see how ripped you can get and this might give you greater motivation to pack on mass during your next bulking phase....

Eat clean while bulking and don't feel bad about the gain in bodyfat - it's going to happen!! But keep on telling yourself that you can't get the physique you want any other way!! You need to form a solid base before you can start chiseling away!! There's nothing worse than this skinny punks who are pepetually cutting....sure they look toned - but they have no size whatsoever....

I guess what I'm saying is to keep yourself sane - if bulking is driving you nuts - take a few months to cut up....and then refocus your efforts! Hang in there!

a way to make it right is bulk in the winter, when everything is covered, then start cutting in the spring where teh clothes start to come off
