Dear Friends,
Thanks for taking the time to read this and any advice would be appreciated.
I'm a 49 year old male. I live near Sydney, Australia.
I have been healthy and relatively fit my entire life. About two years ago I noticed that I tired out easily and began feeling what I thought were the consequences of middle age.... I had ongoing skeletal pain as well as awaking "stiff" all over my body (except where I wanted it!) and felt generally run down. I thought that I had a mood disorder as I easily checked the boxes that indicated serious depression. I went to see my doctor (he's a good doc and a friend) and we went down the usual pathway.... he offered me a box of anti-depressant medication and an empathetic look. I refused the pills and increased activity.... it almost worked, but I noticed that my stamina was not increasing and I was left with even more tiredness and pain. My sleep suffered and I was carrying around an extra 10 Kg of loose fat around my waist and thighs but my diet hadden't changed much. Basically, I just gave up and became a couch potato.
I work in medicine myself... and in my job we look very closely at MOOD vs. Endocrinology. Pathology values that indicate thyroid problems are often associated with low or high mood... I had a client who needed his sex hormones tested as he'd had an orchidectomy.... his Test was being replaced.... We struck up a friendship and before you know it I was discussing my own symptoms.... My client gave ME some insight and suggested that I look at my andogens.... sure enough! About 20% below low normal!
I attended my doctor with this info and he agreed to supplement me. About 6 weeks ago, I commenced HRT= Test Gel 5g Transdermal.... 4 days later, I remember waking up in bed AFTER A SOUND SLEEP! When I sat up, I wasn't stiff.... (EXCEPT FOR WHERE I WANTED IT!) and I had a smile on my face. My mind instantly "blamed" the Test. "Couldn't be" I thought..... Friends... it just got better.... The weight just came off! My stamina has increased and I feel like I can take on the world and win. I haven't done any excersice in almost two years! I feel like I REALLY WANT TO WORK OUT! So, I am re-commencing cardio/light weight training tomorrow!
Now..... I am a believer... and I WAS A REAL SKEPTIC! "Andropause?" Yeah right!
I'd like to increase this effect a bit without pushing my body into the hormone roller-coaster.... Robbing Peter to pay Paul as it were.... Coming up with gyno or?
Any ideas? I was thinking of adding 100 Sus every two weeks to get a broader range of different testosterones. I travel to Thailand once a month and have access to ANY meds.... Low dose HGH supplement? My goal is to increase energy and vitality... not to "bulk up" too much.... just stay lean and strong. My exercise regime is light and tight..... about 2 hours per week all up....
Perhaps next time I'm in Thailand/India in August I should get reviewed by a legit endocrinologist....
Any ideas for me? This feels FANTASTIC, but I realize that It's just that I've felt so low and for so long.... that I most likely just feel my old normal self again... and to me this feels great!
This is way out of my expertise/knowledge and I'd be grateful to anyone who may be able to provide some resource info and support.
Thanks very much for your help.
Regards,
JC
