My final words on Platinum

Folks are just too spoiled. Sometimes it takes the hand of the BIG MAN to come down and just smack the turd out some people. Thanks for the board, Mr. Spellwin. I never thought of ever saying that until now. Though I never criticized this board, I guess I am a little spoiled with it myself; So, again, thank you.

George, one thing to consider. last time I peaked at the pole about people subscribing to the platinum service it looked like only 6% said they would. Many sighted it was just too expensive. Now, if you look at the numbers and do a little math, you may find that 6% paying +$100 a year does not come as close to making money as lets say a 50% subscription rate at $30 a year. Just as

He means that the subscription has a very high price elasticity of demand.

Also, a 3-day trial may be worth considering...

P.S.S On a side note, I love your flax seed oil BUT I end up wasting half of it since it drips down the side of the bottle after pouring. Have you thought of using a pour spout type lid that you would find on shampoo or something??? I e-mailed that idea to the boys at mass-q allready

I hear what you are saying, but we looked at higher prices and lower prices and the subscription rate did not work with a price lower than $11.97. I wish they had too, bit I think the price is more than fair. I will look into the Flax bottle too.

I don't know if I'm up for the Platinum thing (don't know much about it as I'm not a real regular here) but I like the site enough to do my supplement shopping here. You will be the first stop next time I buy.

5$ per month for all of them.

You'd almost certainly get something from everyone with options like those.

No offense intended, brain storming is a good thing, but what also needs to be considered is the additional overhead it would involve to authorize people for multiple selected boards etc. When we are dealing with just a fixed number of boards and you either belong or you dont, authentication/authorization is easy. However, when you have a "pick-a-pack" type deal it creates a lot more supervision in the authorization dept.

Good point, there is also the cost of processing a transaction which is about 30 to 40 cents minimum. I appreciate everyones trying to help. The best way is to sign up for Platinum.

ok..there are 20914 registered members. ..................If everyone sends in 10 bucks......that would be over 200 thousand dollars. I dont know how much that really equates to when trying to run a website...but 200K is a pretty decent amount of money. If people send in 5 bucks a month, thats about 100K a month....over a year thats over 1 million dolllars....working in the IT field, I know this is a pretty good budget when thinkiing about bandwidth.....Lease a few T1's or something and you can be ok.

also they have new cards for servers that you can use a standard cat5 cable/connection and get a giogabit ethernet access......each unit is under 10 grand....that should give you some bandwidth..

I will try to support this site when i can...soon you will be getting at least 30 a month from me just for the FLax oil.....also gonna get some triple threat at least twice a month too.

That was my pole........& EF was getting it's butt kicked over it. Notice they ripped my pole off so that the day shift could not see it. The vaaaaaaaaaaaaast majority said they will not pay. Includes me. And since you deleted my Poll....I guess you ARE for censureship. Sorry.......there are too many free sites similar to this that are still growing......sort of where this site was a year ago.
