I heard something interesting from Dave Palumbo, he said that just as women like to hoard fat, we also hoard muscle, so we don't have to worry about losing muscle when dieting etc, as long as you keep the protein up, and of course training.
I also saw a study where peeps who were used to HIT, only trained once a week, HIT style, and actually put on muscle.
I think once you got it, it is easier to maintain, doesn't take the HUGE amount of effort that people who don't train think (all those 'OMG you must be in the gym ALL the TIME comments). Just not true.
