snacks...
Speaking of yogurt, I've tried Dannon Light n Fit vanilla w/ some frozen berries-- I only need like a half cup of the yogurt (60kcals) with a fourth cup of frozen berries, thawed (20-40?)-- it adds up to only 80-100 calories and gives me some fiber + calcium + a little protein. The added bulk from the fruit as well as the juice makes it more filling.
Cottage cheese w/ nutrasweet, vanilla, cinnamon and fruit is good, too.
I've tried Nestle fat free calcium rich hot chocolate, 25 calories for a cup-- very sweet and definitely satisfies my sweet tooth! Swiss miss also makes a decent variety for 50 cals a cup.
Personally, I have to stay away from chips, crackers, pretzels, cereals of any kind when I have the munchies, or I can't get myself to stop nibbling! I look for variety when I pick a snack-- I think eating peanut butter/good fats helps, too. I try to figure "what can I eat that's the most filling, the least calories, the most nutritious while being tasty and interesting?" Pretzels, candy and grain-stuff doesn't fill me up., and because it's boring I eat too much of it.
