Munchies!!!

I'm with spatterson. Nothing like a "good" fat to squelch the munchies. I am really hitting the veggie stir-fry's hard (safflower oil). Fried onions take the cravings away for anything else!

Me too!

I always am starving.............my favorite "diet" snacks are microwave popcorn light of course 1 cup popped is around 50 calories! Those kids otter pops (cheap popsicles) only about 40 calories. Animal crackers have done miracles they are sweet but low in fat and calories! Slim fast has "snack" bars not the meal ones that are carmel and chocolate for 125 calories 4grams of fat and those are really good. Red licorice is good too and low in fat. Sweet escapes have cookie bars and fat free crackers are good...........the club crackers are my favorite. Baked lays, campbells soup, pumpkin seeds, string cheese, yogurt, and there's always those fruit and vegetables! I am not a fan of fruit and vegetables but I try! Hope some of these snacks sounds good! I try to eat six meals a day between 150 and 300 calories each meal depending. It is nice because I get to eat every 2-3 hours so I always have something to look foward to! I have lost 40 pds and its nice to eat finally!

snacks...

Speaking of yogurt, I've tried Dannon Light n Fit vanilla w/ some frozen berries-- I only need like a half cup of the yogurt (60kcals) with a fourth cup of frozen berries, thawed (20-40?)-- it adds up to only 80-100 calories and gives me some fiber + calcium + a little protein. The added bulk from the fruit as well as the juice makes it more filling.
Cottage cheese w/ nutrasweet, vanilla, cinnamon and fruit is good, too.
I've tried Nestle fat free calcium rich hot chocolate, 25 calories for a cup-- very sweet and definitely satisfies my sweet tooth! Swiss miss also makes a decent variety for 50 cals a cup.
Personally, I have to stay away from chips, crackers, pretzels, cereals of any kind when I have the munchies, or I can't get myself to stop nibbling! I look for variety when I pick a snack-- I think eating peanut butter/good fats helps, too. I try to figure "what can I eat that's the most filling, the least calories, the most nutritious while being tasty and interesting?" Pretzels, candy and grain-stuff doesn't fill me up., and because it's boring I eat too much of it.

Personally I can't snack on peanuts. Almost always I end up eating the entire jar. Even though it's a "good" fat all those extra calories is kind of counterproductive when dieting. Maybe you girls have more self-control than I do though... ;)

peanut butter :)

I love natural peanut butter-- nuts are dangerous for me, too-- somehow I always lose track of how many I'm eating (it feels weird to go into the kitchen drawer and get out the tablespoon measure for nuts).
Hey, when you guys buy natural peanut butter, do you drain some of the oil?

Try a cup of Coffee (not late at night of course). A little Equal or Sweet N Low, add a little Sugar Free Syrup (Starbucks, Atkins) in Hazelnut, vanilla, etc..... YUMMMMYYYY

another thing........

Ive posted this before I think but I cannot take vitamins on an empty stomach I get very nauseous and taking so many supplements, aaah! Every meal I sit down with a bottle of water and take a vitamin after a few bites with lots of water, and so on. This makes me full faster and I drink less Pepsi, which Im sorry but I refuse to let it go.............its like family!
