I read in Body For Life that you should wait to eat 60 minutes after doing your AM Cardio. Bill Phillips said that your body burns more bodyfat during this period. He swears by it! Now, is this true? Do you recommend it?
I like to wait 30 minutes, and I have those on my programs/diets do the same........it's called riding the wave of lipolysis, where your body continues to burn fat after cardio.
Some think it to be catabolic, but it's too damn hard to PROVE that, so I believe 30 minutes to be a happy medium. I never noticed any ill affects such as loss of LBM or strength loss by doing this.

Besides the fact that B. Phillips thinks that everyone should drink Met-Rx or the world will blow up, I think he makes a lot of blanket statements. Although his statement is correct, that would only be valid for higher intensity cardio (i.e. over 70% MHR). Higher intensity cardio has been shown to burn calories during the workout and after, but, at the same time, when you do low intensity workouts there is not proof that the calorie burning metabolic shift lasts more then a few minute. So, it all depends......
