Everything should be taken and used in a way that causes you to lift the most. Thinking outside the box is how you learn. There are alot of American and World Record holders out there that don't train Westside, and have just as much biomechanical basis for their theories. Take it all in...do what works.
I don't use by the book Westside form, and because I don't, some of the accessory work should be different for me. The bare basic split is the same, but if my lockout is 403 and my floor press is 170, I spend more time working the weak stuff than the already strong stuff. Oddly enough, so do the Westside boys. They're not ignorant enough to think there's only one path to success, so why should we?
