Ah! Im kinda pissed right now. First attempt at 405lbs, I hit the lower J hooks on the way up. Now that tells me two things: a) I was way too far back on the bench, or b) my shoulders were trying to take over (Im thinking it is this one). So I go for a second attempt, and me feeling pretty darn insecure right about now I tell my buddy to spot me and "stay with me" He isnt my usual lifting partner, so he thought "stay with me" meant help! Well it felt solid, but I know he helped, but it isnt his fault. Im bummed to say the least, but this is the kind of stuff that keeps you training harder and coming back for more. What do you guys think I should do now? I have been maxing out for the last 2-3 weeks which I realize is not the brightest idea. Should I go back to 315lbs for a couple of weeks and get 8-10x. Or maybe get off the flat bench entirely, and hit some db presses, board presses, and maybe some floor presses? What do you think? I missed my PR this week, hope you guys nail yours!
