Here it goes, I read an article a few weeks back, about think about every muscle as your lifting. So I decided to give this a try monday for my bicep, tricep workout.

So I did my normal routine, but instead of letting my mind wonder even a little bit, I consintrated. What do I mean, well while I was doing DB curls, the entire time I consintrated on my bicep. I kept thinking to myself, come on bicep get pumped...get huge. I'd think to myself right bicep, hold a little longer or push a little more.

Well two days after my workout my bicep and triceps are still sore...in a good way.

I just thought it was so amazing what effect the mind has on the muscle. I mean my bicep and tricep are still pumped, I didn't change my routine, I didn't change the weight or reps or tempo...I just really consintrated on the muscle I was working at that time. I have to suggest if you don't currently do this, give it a shot. I'm very impressed

So true, if you walk into the gym to do some heavy lifts, and anywear in your mind you don't think you can hit them, you won't!
Your mind is the most important thing you take with you to the gym.

Very true. Ask any competitive lifter; they may be physically capable of putting up huge weight, but SO MUCH depends on confidence, how psyched they are, etc.

Case in point: Three weeks ago, extremely psyched going in to my leg workout. Went up ten pounds and an extra rep in the squat, one of the best single-week increases I've had in over a year. I was focused and 100% into my workout.

This last week, I went out the night before, woke up feeling a little crappy, basically went through the motions. Squat still up five pounds, but no rep increase, and the last rep was pretty damn sloppy. Hell of a difference.

THe more you focus on any exercise the more you get out of it. Don't go to the gym and sit there on autopilot. It's only boring that way anyway.

i found music to help me workout.

My own music not the crap they pump in the gym. Let's me focus better
