Milk yes or no

Hey folks, I drink a lot of milk gallons of low fat milk actually. Is this ok, I have heard that I should be switching to skimmed or even soya milk.
 
Depends on what your trying to do. I'm cutting and trying to stay cut so I dropped pretty much all dairy, I eat my cereal with sobe life water. But if your tryin to bulk I would say drink milk me personally would get the almond soy milk.
 
Too much sugar in milk for me. Years ago I'd drink a gallon a day. Not anymore.

Cheers folks, currently I am bulking so I need to stay on the milk then. Is there as much protein and goodness in the soya as regular milk

Depends on how well you digest it. Some people can't do it at all (lactose intolerant) many people get bloated by milk (poorly digested) some have absolutely no problems with it. If drinking a pint makes you feel full chances are you aren't digesting it well. I put away an average of 4 pints per day and never had any problems with it.

Regarding soy, several studies have indicated soy raises Estrogen levels in males.... May not be a great idea for bodybuilding purposes. Also 2% milk has a higher percentage of protein than soy milk. :)

Listen to colstreamer b/c he is 100% right about soy having affects on you. It should be avoided like the black plague. I would recommend go with almond or coconut milk

I love milk. If your worried about too much fat dont drink as much daily or switch to skim.

Lol that's some gross cereal brother. But milk ain't bad, like some said some people have no problem and some do. If your going to drink it, get some organic no fat or low fat. I personally drink a lot..and handle it well. No matter if I'm cutting or bulking it's always in my diet.
 
Folks, thanks a million for the advice, really appreciate it, its defnitley trial and error. Will switch to skim milks and see how that goes
 
Badgers drink cows milk, that's one of the ways TB is passed, so do pigs, they'll suckle straight from a cow's teat. Piglets have fed from dogs too there are plenty of examples of cross species suckling. So it ain't just humans who will drink the milk of another species. We may be the only ones to keep & breed other species for their milk but we're also the only species who keep and breed other species to kill and eat.
 
So you guys think the sugar content in skim milk would be a problem if you are drinking alot of it? Milk doesn't bother me at all, but I do try to eat as little as sugar as possible. And i thought almond milk had a higher sugar content. Correct me if I am wrong
 
I was raised in the country, on a ranch/ farm, so the milk we drank growing up, pure whole milk, straight from the cow to a bucket through a strainer and into the icebox! You can't get better milk! Now thats a bulker for ya, like half and half, reg milk always seemed weak to me, 2% water, started using almond milk about a year ago, love it, great for protein mix, 50% more calcium, 2/3 the cal. No milk fat!
 
Take a look at some of the normal groceries and healthfood stores. I buy this stuff called Mootopia and I can't get over it. It tastes like skim milk exactly but it has twice the protein and half the sugar. Makes for an extra strong pwo shake.

Well i think too much milk is not good for your health. I am not saying that don't drink it but try to use it in a limit. I know it helps to strong your bones but Sometimes, milk might contain some harmful casein elements which might increase risk of heart disease. So try to use it in a limit.

I am lactose intolerant and drink lactaid milk... It's 100% lactose free. Also if one uses pancreatin 4x or 6x, one can much better digest the milk. Infact I use digestive enzymes at EVERY meal no matter what I'm eating

I use na-r-ala 300mg twice a day . This will shuttle a large amount of those sugars to muscle without the insulin spike issues

I'm glad you mentioned that soy raises Estrogen levels in men because we can now stay away from it especially when bulking and it will be a bit easier to maintain an optimal hormonal environment for building muscle
