Good question. . .
Here is what I consider clean:
1. Foods that provide dense nutrients
2. Foods that burn clean
3. Foods that aren't processed
4. Foods that require little preparation (leave out the butter and other goodies)
When I eat clean, I still eat carbs (potatoes, rice, pastas, and breads). To me, these foods provide good nutrition and yield high energy.
Not eating clean would include:
pizza, ice cream bars, candy bars, fried chicken, and etc.
However, I am putting on mass so I am eating a combination of clean foods and not so clean foods
The main key is to eat a diversity of foods to receive adequate nutrition.
