Massive Gas..... Emarassing Help!!!!

Ok... just like it says i have massive gas. not just gas but really bad smelling gas. I mean i lay one and it consumes the air for 2 minutes and its the worst mother @#$'in bad smelling fart you'll ever smell. Now i'm at work and I have to hold it in for 3 hours straight until i go on break. So everytime i feel the urge to let it go i have to hold in and i feel it churning its way back into my stomach and it hurts! it hurts really really bad. I can't even let out a little bit for relief b/c they just smell too much. I take a lot of protein each day. I weigh 170 and I take in about 200. Only after I drink a whey protein shake or eat a protein bar do i start to feel the cramping. Now i can't not have a whey protein shake or a protein bar b/c i need the protein in my diet. Btw Taking gas-x does not work for me. So anyone have any suggestions on what i can do here? please for the love of god how do i get rid of this?

If you are using a cheap brand of whey it might have a high level of lactose in it.......for alot of people that can cause stomach cramping and serious gas. I know people have mentioned the problem with bars before but can't remember the explanation.

So either come off whey and get a good protein blend instead......or even better......eat more whole food instead. 200g of protein is easy to get from whole food......you dont need shakes etc for that.
 
I have heard ginger root can help with digestion. Search on the Anabolic board for "Ginger Root". Lots of good threads about it.

Most protein bars have sugar alcohols in them (some more than others). Sugar alcohols can give you MAJOR gas, believe me, I speak from experience. :)

If there's no other way to get the protein, try switching to another bar.
 
just let it go......... worst case senario....... blame it on someone else....... but if your in a desk....... dont fluff whatever you do!!!

ok...smelly ass farts...now imagine that happening every 2-3 minutes..welcome to my world
 
How about trying pre-digested amino acids and BCAA during the day , they can easily be absorbed and have very high biological value compared to most protein powders.

Save the also important whey isolate powder for after your training...

Changes are high that the reduction in overall powder will eliminate the gas problem. And even if u do get an urge from the miniscule amount of whey powder you can feel relieve yourself in your own environment....


Back in the days , when i knew nothing about nutrition , it happened to me once that i ate some beans, onions and tuna and i went 1.5 hours later to the gym to do some leg presses.

Talking about major embarassement!
