Mass Shooting at Virginia Tech...

I dont think any amount of psychological research will ever prevent events similar to this.
my feeling too
in this era though it's far easier to load up on an arsenal for when someone 'snaps'
this guy obviously ran the scenario through his head before today
and then "snap" day happened
whereas the columbine duo had it all planned to erupt and scripted it
either way they had easy access to arsenals

There are two arguments:

1) Ban all guns (thus no possiblity of shootings)
2) Allow all to have guns (if someone like this started shooting, he probably would of been killed after the 2nd person).

there is no easy answer, that is why I said BAN or ALLOW...

Neither option is feasible in the US.

1) There are too many guns in the US right now to ban them or significantly reduce their presence in society. Gun availability to people who will kill and commit crimes with them won't go down.

2) Even if every one was allowed to have guns this wouldn't work.

The 90 year old lady living alone won't have a shot gun, even though she
needed one more than anyone - to keep crackhead assholes from robbing her.

The 12 year old girl walking home from school won't carry a concealed weapon, even though she walks past rapists and pedophiles homes.

And what about little kids? They get killed by maniacs, should 5 year olds carry guns in the playground for their own protection?

i Will be curious to see what knee-jerk reactionary bullshit comes of this
gun searches at elementary schools, metal detectors in every building across the country...
the cost of freedom...doesnt feel very free does it?
much easier to blame inanimate objects than other people.
If all the guns on earth disappeared it would never have stopped these:

I just read it and its so sad, these kids got up yesterday, deciding which clothes to wear to school, wondering if they would have a pop quiz and missing their boyfriend/gf and then end up dead by some dumbass

too bad legal, law-abiding students can't pack heat on campus. too bad liberals pass laws that get others killed.

anyone notice that the places that have the most guns (like gun shows) have the fewest number of shootings? gee...i wonder...

lol @ the solution being students carrying weapons on campus.

YAY for brains!!!

that guy roamed about for 2 hours after the first person he killed. i don't understand that. don't Prestigious Univ.'s have campus police? (waits for samoth to scoff at WVU @ being perstigious)

nope, so rock on

(and ban all asians entry to the US, that sort of rings true)
So Yarg would never be able to come hang out in the US then? :bawling:

After watching my truck get robbed in front of my face and going to a roomate's funeral after him being murdered by 2 19 year old gangbangers I'm convinced the only solution is responsible gun ownership.
