Mass Shooting at Virginia Tech...

How terrible sad. Unbelievable. The poor kids/families. This is why I want to study psychology - the more we learn about depression, suicide, mental illness, etc, the more we can prevent these things from happening.

My heart goes out...
Charles Whitman, the previous mass shooting murderer, was found to have a brain tumor in the autopsy.

Sad, sad story. I guess there is no word yet how many shooters or what really happened.

The mind truly fascinates me. If we can learn more and more about the mind we can uncover so much that is not known.

Absolutely amazing. I want to research more on the Placebo Effect, one day. So much I want to research on! LOL.

Atleast we now have some medical evidence to proceed with. Unfortunately people are not as vigilant to go to the doctor as they are to go buy a gun...

The health care system in America is flawed and the cost of doing an MRI on the brain was probably out of reach. We need to make health care more available and affordable , instead of talking about making guns more available

It was a very small tumor and was not in the frontal part of the brain where it would have affected areas governing reason and cognition.
If you want to research the 'placebo effect', read the AAS board and their reviews of supplements, it's quite hilarious.
My undergrad psych research was cognitive markers to depression. I suggest you switch majors, you cant unlearn what you learn. Somethings are better left unknown, lest it drives you mad. And not angry mad, like mad like a hatter

We don't know enough about the brain to come to that conclusion...
He should have been monitored more closely.

I dont think any amount of psychological research will ever prevent events similar to this.
