Lupus Question

"Omega 3 comes in a Capsule form? "

It can or you can use Flax.

"Is Borage Oil similar to flax in consistency?"

The primary purpose of Borage Oil is to get to gamma linolenic acid directly vs the conversion from linoleic acid that is impaired with age.

3-4 gram's of Fish oil daily by this you mean the omega 3 correct?

No, I mean Fish oil that yields about 150-200 mg of DHA and EPA per capsule. Again, ingesting alpha linolenic acid doesn't mean you'll get to DHA and EPA.

Wilson6- Thank you for your help I will get the item's you listed and I will post an update.
BeeUnique I hope we do not get this diease.... my sister has
"MS" Multiple Sclerosis this is another horriable autoimmune disease.
From what my understanding is you can'not get the same autoimmune disease as a parent so chances are you will not get Lupus.

My mother has muscular dystrophy....she developed it later in life(27). It has been a long road for her since...Although, at that time, they told her should would be in a wheelchair by the time she was 35...she's now 51 and no chair.

She has Reynauld's as I do. They told me it was one of the many things categorized under Lupus...anyone know?

I hope we don't get it too! I like to think I have an immune system of steel! I also like to think that all you need to stay healthy is lots of water, excercise and eat clean.....I don't want to be wrong or "my" theory will be blown to bits!!
As for the Lupus, my mom was told by her docotor that it usually runs in the females in the family and that if she were to trace her family history there may have been several members with Lupus AND some may not have even known they had it. Now, I am pretty skeptic when it comes to doctors (just don't like them) and I think alot of things can be controlled mentally (I say this cause I haven't ever been really sick or in the hosp.....knock on wood) I will be 30 next year and I have read Lupus usually strikes around that age.
I would definately get several opinions before a final diagnosis.
Good luck to us both!!

Torchy, I will ask my mom if she is aware of Reynauld's, it is interesting to hear what others have been told by their doctors. I like to compare info;)
