Low carb...how often 'cheat' meals?

I tried doing the one meal a week thing, but it turned into a cheat day, which consisted of fries and italian sandwiches! For me personally, I am better off without even one cheat meal. A carb up day is alright, as long as it is filled with "good" carbs. I guess it depends on you personally. If having a cheat meal helps you stay sane during a diet and doesn't completely stunt progress, go for it.

bro, i just came off of one. ate really low carbs mon-fri (about 50) with cardio and weight training. and pigged out sat and sun. and i really mean pigged out-cookies cake and everything else i wanted. i lost 20 pounds. i worked great because i gives you somthing to look forward to and it also helps your matoblism speed back up. but when you have lost the weight that you want, no cheating or it will all come back

bro- that's awesome, but, sounds like you might have great genetics. If I did that I would lose nothing! I eat less than 10 carbs a day and still can't carb up that way. It's all about knowing your own body, trying different "diets" and nailing down eating habits that work for you.

Thanks,i completely agree. i tried low fat low cal diets and nothing works as well for me as the low carb. i forgot to elaborate on one thing, when you come off, slowly introduce complex carbs early in the day. you can not just start eating simple carbs, or you will put it all back on

how often do you have carb up days? Would it be better to just have one or two carb up meals?

I carb up when dieting as often as I "feel" it necessary. That sort of fatigue and achy body feeling is a good indicator that I need to give myself a carb boost. Agree with killah, it's all about getting to know *your* body.
