Looking for words of encouragement.

Hopefully I can find some.

I am in worst shape I have ever been in.
I am working full-time as a Firefighter. I am in school full-time working for my EMT-I. I have been to the gym 1 (ONE) time in the past 6 months. I have only gained about 20 lbs. But +4 sized in my pants and my xL shirts are tighter than hell. I weighed in this morning at 268, butt naked.

My only cardio in the past 6 months has been about 10 structure fires. We had one last week and I felt like I was about to stroke out, due to my unhealtiness.

I have been eatting like crap too. Yesterday I had 3 moon pies, 6 pack of Dr. Pepper, 2 powerades, 2 hamburger steaks cooked in brown gravy and literally 2 lbs of mashed potatoes. Zero water.

I get out of school next friday. And I am ready to do whatever it takes. I use to know what to do, but I kinda feel lost.

Someone chime in.

u know what to do man, you dont need our 'words of encouragement.'

you need to turn that 6 pack of dr. pepper into water and eat healthier foods than moon pies to get a start on this..

i wouldn't dive head first into doing massive amounts of cardio and eating 2,000 calories a day..ease yourself into it and it will be much easier to stick to in the long run..start taking walks when you have the time too and definitely start lifting

I have the complete opposite philosphy. I believe that you should jump right into the diet.

My reasoning is simple, one can always do something tomorrow, but can they do it today too. I'ld rather jump into a cold pool, then let my ball shrivel slowly (and painfully).

As far as your diet goes, there are a bunch of different diets (zone, no carb, custom, etc...), so do some research on which you think you can handle. Good luck and if you have any questions, let me know.

you've got the most valuable commodity of all: youth. don't wait 10 years and wonder what happened. do one thing, every day, that you think will improve you....
