LLat Development...

It seems to me that my lats have grown pretty well...the only bad part is for some reason they seem to only be growing in the upper portion...I want my lats to start out lower...they only grow out from my arm pits and a little lower...a little disappointing LOL Heres my current routine:

Front Lat Pulldowns 3 sets
Yates BB Row: 3 sets
Low Cable Row 3 sets

I don't know if its just my genetics or what...but can someone help me out here??

Thanks
~Bandit~

Sounds genetic. Mine insert pretty high too. Just keep bustin your ass, trying new routines, etc. Only advice I can give.

Do close grip (V-bar) pulldowns or pullups first. Some say it doesn't make a difference, but it helped me in the lower lat area a lot. Stay strict, arch your back and bring the V-bar down until close end touches your chest (or up until your chest touches it).

you mean do them instead of wide grip pulldowns or in addition to?

instead of wide grip pulldowns....this puts more stress on the lower portion of your lats.....I'm totally with the dude on that one.

Here is something that you do not want to hear...time is your limiting factor. As you become larger overall...your lower lats will get bigger. How would you look with wide lower lats and narrow upper lats? No one knows because that kind of person does not exist. You must develop the uppers before the lowers can develop.

Time!!!

Where is the lower point of insertion for lats? I have a post on the women's board trying to figure out what these little wings are in my photo that seem to go between my lower lats and my pelvis...lats? obliques? I'm in serious need of an anatomy lesson...Speak up if you can put this to rest for me!
