lifting while cutting

i'm currently cuttin and i have about 10 more pounds of fat i'd like to lose, for the past month i've been doing a few basic lifts (squats, bench, deadlift) once a week, about 5 sets per exercise for about 8-12 reps at the most weight i can do, i also run about 5-6 days a week for 2.5 miles, so is my lifting good or am i off?

If you're keeping most of your muscle while losing the fat, then its good. If not, then it's bad.

I personally like to throw in a lot of isolation work when I'm cutting, but that's just me.

It's hard to tell how much of the muscle is leaving when cutting that's why I asked.

work hard on flexing and posing to bring every little muscle out

arnold used pose for hours to bring out all the strations :)

Stop running too.......you're going to eventually run off lean mass.

What do you suggest for cardio?

You have to ask ME this? ;)

I figured you of all people would know I employ/suggest 65-75% MHR for a longer duration (45 mins approx). That is when the body mobilizes fatty acids(fat) to be burned for the activity at hand, and not glycogen/lean muscle tissue. If the exercise is too intense, the body cannot meet the fuel requirements with fat, so it switches to a quicker source of energy, glucose or lean muscle tissue. Not ideal for a body composition change-for-the-better.

I was only jokin', knowing that you've probably seen me post what KIND of cardio I like about 1000 times here, hahah...........okay, anyhow, I prefer the recumbent bike when I do perform cardio (less these days, more strict on my dietary approach. It's hard, will make you psycho at times :) , but I think it works), although sometimes I will use a treadmill and just "do it" walking w/a slight incline. I don't do that now because I'm about 75% healed on both knees, and I want to keep all the leg size that is finally coming back and get it to continue. I take my own pulse and multiply it to get the figure, I don't trust the ones that are on the machines too much.
