LEG WORKOUT - Why do I wanna puke during workout?!!

Liberator

New member
FOR THE PAST 2 WEEKS DURING MY LEG ROUTINE I HAVE FELT LIKE I AM GOING TO PUKE

ITS LIKE ACID IS ATTACKING MY STOMACH AND I FEEL A BURN IN MY THROAT AND FEEL DIZZY, I HAVE TO CONCENTRATE HARD SO NOT TO PUKE ALL OVER THE PLACE

I REST 2MINS BETWEEN EVERYTHING AND AS HEAVY AS I CAN

THIS SHIT IS HARDER THAN CARDIO, ITS LIKE I HAVE TO FOCUS HARD MENTALLY, NOT TALK TO ANYONE OR ANYTHING, JUST TO GET BY

ANYONE???????????????????????????????

I EAT 2 HOURS BEFORE MY WORKOUT AND AM NOT A PUSSY

????????????

Welcome to the party pal.
Your leg workout must be getting into the hardcore zone.

I don't know the technical / physiological reason but it happens occasionally to all of us that work legs like a MoFo..

It seems like I get the pukes when I up the weight, or have anything but water and some Carbo drink in me.

I also have had occasion to get LightHeaded/dizzy, seeing spots and of course the Ralphs...

Its a beautiful thing, in a saddo-masochistic sorta way. I was just talking about this today, ironically during my own leg day. Could have something to do with the heat of summer time. Happens to me every summer.

Leg workouts are very taxing if you train them the way they're supposed to be trained. Why do you think so many people that workout have underdeveloped legs? It requires as much from you mentally as it does physically, to work your legs thouroughly. Leg workouts suck, but there is no better feeling than hammering your legs and having a huge pump in them. I don't know anyone that doesn't feel the same way.

oh,soo true!!love that pumped feeling in your legs where you can barely walk.hell yea doin' legs sucks, but the reward is so great!!!

It can be attributed to the blood volume in the lower half of your body after a workout. If you lay on your back on the floor with your legs against the wall for a few minutes, it will help. Whenever I feel dizzy during a workout, this is what I do and I feel better afterwards...elevating my legs. My wife taught me that trick, she's a PT.

THANKYOU CONTRACTION, I WILL TRY THAT

ITS LIKE BLOOD IS ENGOURGING MY LOWER BODY AND I FEEL ALL LIGHT HEADED AND SICKLY

IT FEELS LIKE SOMEBODY HAS SUCKED ALL THE OXYGEN OUT OF MY BODY AND SMASHED MY LEGS WITH A SLEDGE HAMMER

When people start talking smack about leg training and puking, I can't help but wonder who is full of shit, and who isn't. How do we know if the person actually has a set of wheels, or looks like a paraplegic from the waist down?

I also find it hard to believe that so many people on this board train legs in such a "hardcore" manner as to cause themselves to be sick. Yet, most pics of people who make these claims reveal their poor little wasp legs sticking out of a pair of oversized basketball shorts, or the pic just happens to only show them from the waist up. What gives? I say, cut out the bullshit! If you got a set of legs, that's awesome. Training them heavy and hard is not as easy as everyone makes it out to be!

PLEASE don't consider this a flame to the previous posts on this thread! I just want to set the record straight. A huge thumbs up if you love to kick ass on leg day!

I've never attached a pic to a thread before, so if it doesn't come through I'll try again later. Just so you know I'm not just shooting my mouth off, here's a recent pic showing my leg development. I'm the guy in the middle.

Sorry this thread got so long! I've been needing to get this off my chest for a while. BTW, I'm expecting to get flamed for this... oh, well.

if i dont puke doing legs i get my ass back in there and push out a set of breathing squats to make myself puke, its jsut part of the routine now,ya see me running across the gym to a garbage can on leg/deadlift days

I'm calling BS on Mr. Oak.

Besides the fact that he's full of shit. I think that puking twice per week would be growth prohibitive. Look at all those nutrients going down the crapper, not to mention "see ya later" to your tooth enamel.

Real smart pal. BTW, let's see those legs. They've got to be monsterous if u r truly that intense.

I'm with Kingsquat on this one. Let's see a pic of your legs Mr. Oak, they must be tree trunks due to your incomparable intensity. So let's see the fruits of all your labor.

I have the same problem...feeling nauseous during a leg workout. I thought it was just me though... I think that is one of the reasons why I hate working legs. Lately, I've been so lazy, i've been doing legs once or twice a month ...max! I did legs this monday and they are killing me...along with my ass from squats and lunges!

i dont have any pictures, you can doubt me if you want to ,im not here to prove anything to you piss ants, why would i goto the gym and do a pansy ass workout,my legs are around 25 inches with a visable tear drop, keep calling bullshit, fly up to my gym and watch my leg and back workouts

So u r saying that any workout which doesn't involve throwing up is a "pansy ass" workout? Hmmmm.

I just saw a pic of you on your website. You must be extremely bottom heavy, because your upper chest, traps, and neck look scrawny.

Legs and back happen to be my strongest bodypart Oak. Quit yer yappin' and find someone to shoot a pic of you showing off these monsters.

My squat:
455 for 4
500 for 2

My Deadlift:
500 for 4

And I never puke? No gear either.
Backing up my mouth with this back pic...

you have good legs and nice development, but those pictures you saw of me were a year old,i was about 150 then and am now 170ish my weight varies a few pounds up or down,im not saying that any workout that doesnt involve puking is pansy ass,but i go as hard as my body and mind allow,i dont see the point to go soft, after lefts and back i can hardly move for a few days, stairs kill me after legs and after deadlift day can barely get out of bed

im only a short guy about 5'6 ish
and my stats as of a week ago are
47inch chest
15.8 inch arms
31.5 waist
25.2 quads
18 calfs
14 forearms

Hold on Oak.. Let me go out to the MR & Mrs Natural state web site and get some killer leg shots for ya...

Dude, Getting the Pukes does NOT mean we are actually puking on the Squat rack floor.

If you don't get nausious or Light headed from a heavy leg W/O, big ups to you.

It seems as though you were implying that those pics may not have actually been me. Am I right on that? Here's a link to my site if that's what you're thinking.

Oak was saying that every leg day/back day, he would have to run to the trash can and puke. I was calling BS on that. I totally agree with you on getting nauseous and/or light headed on leg day.

Y_Lifter--- I wasn't slamming you a bit? I was just responding to what you said earlier about going out to the "Mr & Mrs Natural State web site and getting some killer legs shots for ya". To me, that implied that I was merely going out to some web page, stealing pics, and saying it was me.

i don't puke on leg days..

i've felt ill a few times, and kinda lightheaded once in awhile, nothing that a carb drink didn't clear up

i've almost messed my pants a few times when going heavy on the leg press.... (gosh, i can't believe i shared that one!)

for the record, contraction was right; you feel sick when doing legs b/c they are such a huge muscle group, and when they get a pump all the blood from your upper body rushes down into them and you get dizzy, lightheaded, nautious. Fucking great, isn't it??:D

I do squats, leg extensions, and leg curls for my leg workout. I don't do Leg press becuase I really don't see any resluts from it. I remember it used to be what would make me nausious, I would get a huge headache from it or see stars during the workout. I have never puked during leg workout. I always feel light headed and walk kinda clumsy after squats but thats about it. Same thing for deadlifts, it kinda sucks becuase i'm thinking to myself "I must look like an idiot to everyone else" I dont' care though. I think maybe the puking and all may also have something to do with the temperature of the room. I live in Florida and it seems like you can do nothing but walk around in the gym and you start sweating like crazy, thats the one thing I really hate about it.

i almost puked once.... and that was when i did a 2 hour long nonstop supersetting leg workout while getting ready for a contest...... needless to say... i learned my lesson and have never attempted that again.

my buddie seems to puke once every 3 months..... it just happens..... (usally from what he ate) .... when he does...... hes rarin and ready to get back at it....

dizzy, lightheaded, and sick to your stomach good....

puking bad......... think about whose going to want to spot you with that breath...... wheew..... no me

Contraction, I Had a killer leg day this morning and gave the Elevated leg shit a go after squats when I got the dizzys...

It helped bring me back to reality and clear my head after the 4th set of squats. I did get some strange looks but WTF do I care.
Thanks and thank you wife...

KingSquat, Nice pics and good wheels... Peace
