I personally hate hacks, but I will squat, and front squat all day long. Or at least until I feel sick. Squats are the way to go. Make sure you go deep, even past parallel. Do them super slow too. Get a real feel for the weight. My partner and I will do a 4 second squat routine. That means we squat down until the count of 4. That helps us learn to slow our squat, and get a better feel for the exercise.
