GLUTAMINE

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body and makes up over 50 percent of the intracellular and extracellular amino acids, and is involved in more metabolic processes than any other amino acid. Glutamine is converted to glucose when more glucose or cellular fuel is required by the body as an energy source, this prevents the body from using muscle tissue as an energy or amino acid source.

· Glutamine is the main anti-catabolic agent in muscle, that is, the compound that helps preserve muscle during and after exercise. The heavier your training , the greater the stress is on muscles, and the greater your muscle use glutamine.

· Evidence shows that all cell replication in the immune system requires glutamine. Glutamine is an non-essential amino acid which cannot be made by immune cells, it is made almost exclusively by muscle cells. With this in mind, your muscles have to supply large amounts of glutamine continuously to the immune system, by adding glutamine to your diet you will make better gains physically.

· Glutamine also increases cell volumization immediately. Volumized muscle cells appear larger, get better pump and assist in protein synthesis. In fact, glutamine helps muscle cells to utilize both protein and carbohydrates.

Benefits of L-Glutamine

· Glutamine increases the body’s ability to secrete Human Growth Hormone (HGH). HGH assists in metabolizing body fat and helps to support new muscle tissue growth.

· Play’s a role as an anticatabolic agent.

· Glutamine also acts as a powerful ammonia scavenger. Ammonia is a highly toxic substance to muscle cells.

· Also, because glutamine increases gut mucosal integrity and intestinal functioning, it's possible that the food we eat may be absorbed better or that we may have less GI distress after eating certain foods.

Conclusion:

Research demonstrates that the muscles can benefit from an addition of 2-10 grams of glutamine daily. You can take more if your budget allows it.

There are no known negative side effects to glutamine use. Glutamine can also be found in many foods high in protein , such as fish, meat, beans, and dairy; in short, anything with a heartbeat, had a heartbeat, or came from something with a heartbeat.
