Knee advice

New member
After jogging for some time or deep squats etc I get a mild pain on my left side of my right kneecap. Can I do anything to help minimize strain on my knee and/or repair it?

Does anyone use glucosamine with good results for this sort of thing? I don't want to messup my knee.

Any other remedy suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

This is on the side of the knee whereas the article talks about the tendon underneath the patella. Does this hit the same thing?

as far as squats go, I'd start with checking your form...

you probably don't want to hear this, but maybe you should stop jogging and try something that isn't so hard on your joints--like the eliptical machine...

probbaly due to yoru patella not tracking properly due to a muscle imbalance.

The peterson setups should help

Ya I've been doing elliptical a lot more often than jogging as a result. Jogging just cuts me up a lot better so I try to do it once a week on the treadmill instead of on the street for an extra level of cushioning.

I think it may be because of overpronation. My feet point out to the sides like (picture the slashes are my feet

--> \ /

I wear some motion control shoes from new balance to help, but I dunno. Not sure what type of doc I'd need to see. It isn't a problem just slightly annoying/concerning. I'll give the exercises a try.
