Porn addiction is related to one's upbringing, not simply by watching it. I could watch a horse banging a women all day but I will never like it, why? Because my brain never associated sex and animals due to my childhood. And don't try to associate drugs with the topic, they are physically addicting, not so much mentally addicting. So it really is a different subject.
One major issue psychologist have found is that teaching kids that sex is an awful thing, the brain will most likely associate serial desire with fear in their adulthood. In worst cases imaginable it results in serial killers because they only get arousal from injecting fear in others. Of course, many other factors go into cases like that which is why they're more rare. But I'm sure you can imagine a person only getting aroused by fear isn't healthy.
I good large scale example could be Europe. They view sex very different than Americans. They don't view it as an extremely personal thing that shouldn't be talked about or viewed in any way. They even have wide scale prostitution that is evident to children at pretty young ages. And for some odd reason they happen to have drastically less sex related crimes.
Then there are other things like men treating women as objects. People have felt it was related to abusive porn, but the evidence shows it's due more to, again, childhood teachings. Porn can contribute to that, but in that case it will only slight magnify what is already there. Not create it.
But do what you want. You can base life on your few 20-40 years of life OBSERVATIONS or OPINIONS. Or you can base your life on 2000 or so years of intense psychological research. What would I know though...
