I think keto diets can be long term all though, most people dont and thats fine, but as far dangerous populations have been studied in the artic region where their consisted mainly of protein and fat (from fish and animals) were much healthier than their counterparts that had incorporated processed foods high in carbs. Similar results were seen in the aboriginal population as well. Cavemen didnt have white bread and pasta so they didnt adapt to it.
