Keeping gains

What are the best ways to keep all of your gains. I guess no matter what you are gonna lose the water you retained but i was reading a post today alot of people 3 months down the road are only up 3 pounds. In my mind I would hate to have my weight go up 25lb only to be right back where i started in 3 months and prob look smaller to everyone than i did in the first place. Anyways what are the top 3 way to keep the most of your gains.

1. keep water retention down during cycle
2. excellent PCT protocol
3. Extra calories, and protein

and an extra one 4. a good training regimen

yup...that pretty much sums it up. you can yield some nice permanent lean body mass if you cycle wisely.

Can't forget that alot of it comes down to body type too..... If youre a hardgainer, you will have more trouble keeping gains..... Where Endo/Mesomorphs will have an easier time keeping them......

is it hard to keep gains with EQ
for me, EQ, TREN, Winny all stick around on me for good. Test, well, I can keep a good portion of it but I still loose a bit which can be depressing.

There is no way to know if you'll keep your gains or not. It depends on how far past your genetic limit the steroids took you. Most people these days do not wait until they are near their genetic limit to start using steroids. They want a short cut. So if you go straight to steroids you're likely to lose your gains because it was the steriods keeping you at that size.
The other problem with going straight to steroids is that you never build mature muscle mass to build on. You're creating all new muscle mass and that's much harder to keep. It is the people who get their mass built up and then use steroids to go further that keep most of their gains. The other thing is unreal expectations. Ronnie Coleman averaged 8 pounds of lean mass a year. It's ridiculous for people to think they can add twice or three times that on the doses that are commonly used on this board.

another excellent post here!!

Retention of the gains that you make during a cycle is another sceince of itself, and one not many focus enough attention on. You must keep your caloric intake and workout intesnity levels high. Assist your body in recovering by getting some extra rest and taking some antioxidants. Creatine helps keep energy stores up. Stay hydrated and remember that you want to keep quality, not quantity, like others stated.

There are plenty of people who want to keep gains but equate no juice with no longer working out!

Your constantly fighting homo-stasis ... your body is geneticly programed so you must understand the need to create an enviroment it can change and survive in , gaining a shitload of muscle quickly then reverting back to your pre-gain diet will likly not yeild enough protien to substain the new muscle . Permant changes need to be made or it's going to leave .

Keeping yourself anti-catabolic is the hard part and a must !!
