Nope, I'm allowed to do curls... they have had me doing them for quite some time. I specifically asked about SLDL and deadlifts and the PTs said don't do them. Also, said BB rows are questionable. I'm not really supposed to carry and heavy bags on that side with the weight pulling straight down. The place I go is pretty athletically focused, so I don't think they're being overally cautious. They said it wasn't something that would cause immediate discomfort or pain, but that over time it would definitely be a problem. I'm really disappointed right now. Especially about the SLDL, I miss them.

I was told to not do leg press by my chiro - aggravates my lower disks.

So what do I do tonite at the gym .... legs .... who do I watch all nite, the beefy guy rackin up all the 45 plates in the gym on the leg press.

I was jealous.

:( Sorry to hear that. It's really hard to be told you can't do something. I guess I just have to find a good replacement for SLDL.

Was also told today that instead of only 4 more weeks of therapy, I'm probably looking at 6-8 to get back to the training I want to do and tennis.

I'm sorry to hear that. :(

My doctor didn't put any restrictions on my lifting after I finished rehab. other than no dips or pull-ups. He did stress the importance of doing work to strengthen my rotator cuffs to prevent any new shoulder problems, and adjusting my benching style more to a powerlifting style with my elbows tucked in.

Really sorry to hear that sugar..

I went thru surgery in March and Had to put all upper body.. and DL's on the back burner for 9 full months.. It killed me. My PT told me that I will prolly have some pain there for EVER! But Im not gonna let it stop me...

As soon as my 'gun shyness' fades Im back to the PL'ing training and competing.

Keep your head up girl.. :)

so sorry to hear that! i know how it feels. hopefully, maybe there's a way around that in the future...or maybe you can find alternatives that you can be okay with?
