I almost had a mishap today pulling. I was on my work set of five and the buckle of my belt shot across the gym on my third rep. The belt dropped to the ground and I managed to pull the fourth rep without the belt. That could of gotten ugly because I was in true 5RM territory and shit like that kind of throws off your groove. I have a brand new 14mm leather belt, but it binds and digs into my ribs on pulls making it hard to lock out. I think I am gonna buy the new Spud Inc triple ply deadlift belt at EliteFTS. I really like soft belts for pulling and this one looks to be put together well.
Glad you are ok. Anything that throws you off can cause an injury. Throwing the buckle means you must have been pushing the abs out to stiffen the core. Well done. I get a chuckle about the guys that walk around the gym wearing the belt loosely all the time.
I've got a cheap leather belt from BB.com. I should get a real belt. A lot of people I know like the Inzers and have pointed me to EliteFTS.
