Just got through talking to the Navy recruiter

Apparently my son is trying to join.......again.
To make a long story as short as I can, he tried to enlist when he was 18, he is now 24. He was away at college the first time and the UT doctor had given him some prozac for home sickness, when he told the recruiter, they turned him down saying he was depressed. He is at work now and I took the call and the Petty Officer who called said tell him to come in and sign and he should be good to go. I knew he was still thinking about it, but I didn't know he was serious. I'm pretty proud of him, but we are roomates and I will miss him.

After the first time, I told him to keep his mouth shut about things like that, he's one of the least depressed people I know.

Hope he's safe and sound...I figure if they asked me to sign for my son, I wouldn't do it...

its stupid, they'll give you depression medicin for anything, you dont have to be depressed. But it did turn out good, right?

The first time was in 1999, I don't have a say this time

Its not the recruiters you have to worry about.. recruiters usually encourage you to lie.. mine did anyway lol. When he goes to MEPS they will ask him this stuff and if they find out after he enlists that he gave false information they will get him on fraudulent enlistment and he will be in a world of shit. So if you are going to lie you better make damn sure its something they have no way of proving.
