Just found out I'm losing my job today!

The place where I work is closing April 1, 2004 & moving to Parsippany, NJ which is 2 & 1/2 hours from where I am. So, I'm out of a job! And I just ordered new furniture & leased a car too! Dammit!! Oh well, more OT so I can get that stuff paid off as much as possible in 6 months!!

Well, after April 1, I'll have plenty of time to work out!! Can you make a living lifting weights??

Yes, it definitely sucks, however you have been given plenty of lead time on it. Is your company doing anything to help the employees re-establish themselves? Hit up your supervisors or other contacts in the company for references or leads for other opportunities. WORK IT BABY!

It still sucks tho. When you do have to look for something else it often makes you think "outside the box" (don't you hate that saying???). But sometimes when you are forced outside your comfort zone or your usual environment your eyes are opened wider than they were.

It sucks to lose your job, but don't mourn the old one too long. It was moving to a place you didn't want to live. It's nice they gave you some lead time. That way you can investigate other opportunities and find something you like rather than feeling pressured to take the first thing that comes along.

Thanks for the suggestions!! My hubby works for a large company (22 years!) who doesn't have an office in North NJ so transferring for him isn't an options. Since I work for a private label auto finance company, the only office I could transfer to is the auto plant, like assembly, etc. The other offices are in Montvale, NJ, Horsham, PA & the new one in Parsippany, NJ. Too far to drive. So if I don't move to the auto assembly plant, I'll be on severence pay.

That'll give me plenty of time to look around. I can pay so much more attention to my workouts!
