ive been with the NA for 10 years now. had a relapse but going on 7 years clean from a heroin habit. Lemme tell'ya: What ur taking isnt that much different! Get ur ass to a meeting! See if it works out for u. U got nothing to lose and going on with the shit WILL cost u ur life or ur health in a serious way. If ur really addicted (and it sounds that way to me) that shit is stronger than u. Get help. There's a community of people ready to watch ur back during wd. Forget about aas until u get good and sober my friend. I'm rooting for u here!

I didn't read every post but I didn't see anyone ask, do you still have the pain that started you taking these drugs? If you started for rec purposes then just stop. Get a doctor to give you what you need to come off. But if you are still in pain then you have to figure out a way to deal with it.

I am dependant on morphine sulfate. I tried to stop and just take the pain. The withdrawals are light weight compared to the pain. I was on the bed moaning and crying. My wife screamed at me to take some morphine "Your are killing yourself." She actually screamed that at me. It's a bitch when you have multiple problems to deal with but when I am in constant pain I am no fun to be around and I can't train for shit.

So do what it takes to deal with the pain in a way that will allow you to kick the pain killers. Myself I take B12 injections. It's the only thing that has been shown to work for my problem. My wife told me she has noticed a difference in how my body is after I started the B12. It's a slow process, nerves heal very slowly, but it is working. I am going to give it one more year then see if I can't kick the morphine. If I can't then I will try every six months after that until I can.
