Yeah doctor's famous last words when they don't know what to do...
It's not in your head!!!! I can't believe after this amount of time they don't have you fully recovered!! It's been a year now hasn't it?
WOW

1 year since the accident (Feb 1st) and it'll be 1 year since surgery April 1st....dunno what "normal" is regarding ACL graft surgery but from what I've heard from others is that you're not back to "normal" (and that's regular, slightly active people normal) till 1 year or more from surgery, so since I'm an "athlete" of sorts maybe my recovery is just longer?? :whatever: So I'll mention it & I'm sure get some smart-assed remark & after the 7th Circle of Hell week this is been I won't be in the mood for his bullshit... :redhot:

So I skipped the gym & ate a cookie tonite......a BIG cookie......and had drinks with dinner.....*sigh*

Let me know what is said... curious!!
I think still your knee should be better then what it is... Just a thought.
You had the muscle development there and there should be no reason that an athlete wouldn't recocver faster then the couch potato who may have had tha same surgery. I mean look at my mom she has had 2 full knee replacements. Her knees bother her at times, but her recovery and flexibility was regained within 4 months!!! And my mother has a LOT,, o.k. LOT of health issues and does not work-out. I just think your PT may have been what's to blame, or the doctor who did the surgery.... I have had some crappy PT. You have to be agressive in your own recovery. I think massage would have helped and can still help get more mobility back into that knee.
Sorry your dealing with this and your bad week :rose:

This week has been the 7TH CIRCLE OF HELLLLLLL!!!!!!!! :redhot: Or whatever is worse than that......

Thankfully my boss took us out for lunch today & we got to leave early but I've resorted to indulging last nite & tonite cuz I'm just fried......Made a good amount of mistakes with the Accts Payable stuff (BIG mistakes!!) so that didn't help my stress.....Normally the gym helps relieve my stress - but this week it didn't help at all!

As for the knee......saw my Orthopedist today & he checked both my knees & said there is "nothing he's worried about." Use Advil, etc for the achiness and Blue Emu.......I have full mobility but the lack of strength in my right leg just never allowed for rotation-type activity, ie skiing.....he also seems to think quad imbalance is causing the achiness.....He said I'm allowed to do modified leg extensions now so maybe that will help........As for the massage - I still would like to do it, but just never have made the appt as I just don't want to be out at night till 7pm.....

As for the orthopedist also - as far as he's concerned, I'm done.....don't need to see him anymore unless I have an issue.....

Hope you didn't miss me tooooo much this weekend

*I* got a makeover today.....Aveda was doing a free makeover day today & the girl did something different with my makeup that is really cool!! Purple mascara & green/purple/blue/brown combo eyeshadow....sounds weird but it looked really good, so I bought the colors & took pics to remember how it was done....

Oh and went to Costco for more supplies.....so I was busy!

Took my 1st T-rex today in a loooooong time......had a headache most of the day but the appetite suppression kicked in which was nice......

Got a new pair of workout pants at Walmart today too - they rang up as $1.00!!!! :dance2:

While I was there I got the off-brand of Blue Emu - it's a gluc/chon/msm + Emu oil blend and I put it on my knees and MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM feels gooooood!! ;)

I'm still around, but found it's MUCH easier to do my log in Word via a thumbnail drive so I can update it at work as I go instead of writing everything down & typing it up here -- got to be way too time consuming and my time has become quite valuable......

checking up! As long as things are good!

I'm jealous for various reasons:
1) You ate a large cookie in the last few days and I didn't. :chomp: ;)
2) AVEDA makeover!!! OMG, I  Aveda -- just reading your post I'm smelling the products I could be immersed in. :D

And as for your knees and recovery and this "orthopedic doctor"... good Lord, that is so frustrating! I'm happy the oil felt good; I'm annoyed that he isn't more proactive or sympathetic to your case it seems.

And the week from hell should be over soon! Hang in there, girl! :rose:

Jens when you had your knee operation...what was the recuperation time?
Mauricio still has his knee "open" the initial wound was operated on and seemed to be healing ok...BUt when his fever started, and Drs realized there was another part of his leg
outer quad contaminated they made a lateral insition to drain and clean area affected, and he is being treated as if he has ostiomelitis (bone infection) because MRI came out with a possibility of it being infected...
So knee still has not healed and he has part of the initial wound still open, and will not be sutured until MRI comes back clean...
No after the whole story...
If you had knee surgery how long was in inmobilized if it was ever...
I am just trying to get all feedback...about time of scarring process...and normal life so wound will not open up..makes sense?

You ate a cookie!!!!!

That cookie seems SOOOOOOOOOOOO long ago!! LOL I want another one!

And the makeover was cool (and FREE)...I'm trying something new with my hair so we'll see.....

Yeah, my ortho is, erm, interesting.....TONS of people have told me he has NO bedside manner & is an ass but he's the best around here......but he still bugs me.....

And the A/P guy is back!! So he's doing his job now, so I don't have to!! Yay!!

You ate a cookie!!!!!

Yes I ate a cookie!! And loved every minute!!! Oh and I didn't share!!

I never had an open wound really - my surgery was laproscopic.....and I was only immobilized for about 1 week......Now someone I knew from a ski forum had an injury where someone hit her & shattered her leg and she had to have the whole thing screwed together with a rod that was left attached to the oustside of her leg for some time & she had open wounds....I can't remember how long she was like that - at least a month I think....His injury sounds more like that than mine - mine was nothing in comparison it seems.... :worried:

Hope he heals up soon!!

Hmmmmm a cookie and then logging for a couple days......Jen..drop the cookies....step back from the cookies

Miss Jen....update us please....I like your logs woman

Working hard!! Every weekday in the gym - lifting & doing cardio.....focusing on my legs & back....

Guy who works there asked me today if I've lost weight or how much have I lost?? he knows I'm competing.....in actuality, since Jan. I've only lost about 8lbs per the scale - but all my size 10 pants are loose but can't fit in the smaller ones yet.....He commented that I'm looking leaner & my V-taper area is bigger......Yay!

Still trying to hook up with Cory to do my bf%.......Got another posing class Sunday and I've been practicing in between sets.....Will need to make some dedicated time to do so in my shoes, but my time at the gym is taking 2 hours from changing to getting my stuff to leave so I haven't felt like doing it....

:rose: How's the training Jens?

Going well!! For all my resistance - I'm pretty used to now getting up at 5:30am to do cardio 5x a week...then get ready at the gym...then get to go back again after work - but I get my lifting done faster, I'm more focused and I get more time at home...

Flor - played golf last Friday - did pretty bad.....comes from not practicing but I don't have time to really.....

Oh and I'm going to see the Eastern Regionals tomorrow and see some friends compete....should be a good time!! Going to play with my new camera.....

Have to go next Thursday also to get my final electric-burst test for my knee....so with all my training it'll be interesting to see where my right leg is as compared to my left.....I'll post up the results.....

Also found out yesterday a good friend I lost touch with died March 16........he was only 49!! Very very sad.....

Great job on the 40lb DBs

I didn't want to continue to hijack short-one's log so I decided to post in yours.

I tried the Walden Farms marshmallow dip and it was great.

I mixed together
1 cup cottage cheese
1 cup strawberries
1 serving of Walden Farms marshmallow dip

It was a tastey snack and very filling.

I cant find them at local grocery stores but I always find them at farm stands. For some reason, they carry a ton of them. Maybe check it out if you have any local.

^^ Don't have anything like that here........DE has *nothing*.....LOL!! But we at least have Trader Joe's!!

Went to a posing class up in PA today - and even checked THREE different grocery stores & NADA....no Walden Farms.....so it'll be ordering online for me....

I *did* find however Walden Farms' Raspberry Fruit spread - it's AWESOME on oats!!!!!!! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Huh, that sucks! One of my favorite things this time of year is hitting the farm stands for fresh fruit & veggies......and walden farms of course...lol

That fruit spread it to die for! They also have a marshmellow spread that if you put it on something and stick it in the fridge for like 5 mins....kinda tastes like frosting! Very good :rainbow:
