It's all about mentality

Seriously, throughout my time lifting (which hasnt been all that long), I've really learned that you need a positive attitude for this stuff. Today, I went in there, feeling real good. I was deadlifting, and becfore today, my PR was at 275 once. Today I was able to get 315 for 2. I kept my head in the game, telling myself 'this is nothing, anyone can do this' and the weight continued to increase. Same thing happened with benching yesterday. I threw up 265 for the first time ever. I'm really proud of my accomplishments thus far. I even passed my goal of deadlifting 315. You guys might not care, but I'm really happy with my progress. But if you're not gonna have a serious mentality when you walk into the gym, you will never get bigger or stronger. Guaranteed.

Hey...don't say that we don't care, because I LOVE hearing about other's progress!!! Congrats on all your PR's and always continue to improve. My PR's are always very important to me, and like you, I have noticed that a positive mental attitude can do wonders for your lifting. It especially helps when you really believe in yourself and in what you can do!

Congrats again, and please keep us updated on your progress!!! :)

definately!

can your mindset make the difference between liftin a weight for 6 reps and liftin that same weight PLUS 10 lbs for 8 reps...YOUR DAMN RIGHT...i think most ppl waaaaaaay underestimate the power of the mind...it all depends on where your comin from...if you realize that all things eventually start w/ a thought/energy well your on your way to realizing its importance/possibilities!

Way to go man!!!! PR's are PR's...no matter if they are deadlifting 45lbs or deadlifting 800lbs...it is still motivation.

I too like to hear others PR's. When others are making progress it helps motivate me, and reminds me that if others are making progress, I too can break some PR's. :)

I'm with everyone else here, I like hearing other people's progress and pride in it. Good job bro

I've been helping this young guy at my gym train for a few months now. He is a super skinny guy, but is continually making progress. He'll get really exited and tell me "Hey bro, I benched 135 with strict form yesterday!" And it makes me feel good. Same thing with my training buddies when they dead 6 plates or bench 4+. Thats what the game is all about.
