Is this an indirect result of squats?

Thicker traps, wider shoulders, deadlifts up (I don't do deads as often as I should)
I didn't work shoulders for a long time due to some strange pain in the shoulder joint.
Hmm will the same thing happen to my arms if I do zerchers (growth from stabilization)?

most likely. yer traps and shoulders have to work a lot to hold that weight steady. my friend, who is goin to college for football, does squats a lot and never isolates traps, yet his traps are huge from squats and deads.

Yeah, bro, full body explosion is a nice side effect to squatting. Funny that you mention traps....it is my own personal experience that the guys with the biggest traps, never do shrugs, and I personally think shrugs are overrated. Squats, deadlifts, and olympic lifting will blow up the traps and upper back better than isolating them with shrugs. I personally think bodybuilders should scrap shrugs and train with more heavy deads (not weenie weight for 15 reps) and do the O-Lifts....it would destroy the myth that muscle maturity takes so long to attain, I've seen 16 yr old powerlifters with muscle maturity. I know I got off track, but the answer to your question is Yes!

BBBD29 makes a good point, muscle maturity is just muscle density, since most bb just worry about capillary density their muscles take a long time to look solid. An olympic lifter or powerlifter has muscles that are incredibly dense in comparison. As far as traps go, mine are huge (in my opinion..lol) and all I do for themis power shrugs and olympic partials (the power shrug being one of those partials).

When I went to cancun, i practically saw people with pure traps going down from their neck about 6 inches, and only then their shoulders would start. It wasnt just one guy, many were like that,.. maybe its genetics, but I've seen many powerlifters who trained for many years and all they had was just little bumps to the sides of their neck

Deads kill pretty much every muscle in my body. From my neck to my calves, my whole back side gets hit.

That`s funny, the only thing that hurts me doing deads is my ego.

lol. I could`nt resist.

Deadlifts are up there with squats on the must do list.
