Is losing weight too fast dangerous?

Are you on a low-carb diet?

Are you doing something like sure-slim?

What is your diet?

How long have you been doing this for?

What are your current stats?

Would you be considered obese?

When you lose weight rapidly, the majority of the weight will be water and lean tissue.

The lean tissue may be skeletal muscle or organ tissue, bone.

We would really need a bit more info, but in general, a slower weight loss is preferable.

Yea. Anything faster then two pounds a week means your body is breaking down. You arn't losing fat, you are losing muscle.

Generally that is true, with the exception of keto diets. Each gram of glycogen holds something like 3 g of water, so when you do a keto diet, a lot of the initial weight loss is water with the glycogen.

People have been known to lose up to 20 lb in two weeks, however, as soon as you introduce carbs, glycogen stores fill up again, and the water also comes back.

There are easier ways to diet, really, it is a competition diet, or for those who are obese IMHO.

I'm losing a pound a day right now.

Yes because of the shock to your body. It also increases the chances of you gaining all your weight once you come off.

My dad lost very much weight in a very short time and now he has overhanging skin.. I feel bad for him, because he worked so hard for it and now he has this. The only one that can help him is a plastic surgeon..

So I think it's always better to loose weight slowly.

yes. I started a low-carb diet - less than 20 carbs a day. You know, the ketosis thing.

but, I'm having my doubts. A pound a day sounds appealing but its too damn expensive. $70-$80 a week. Yikes!

Plus, the diet itself sucks.

I'm thinking about sticking to a low-calorie clean food diet with exercise that I've seen poted here many times.
