Is it possible to have a perfect body, a healthy lifestyle, AND a HEART???

You also have to look at it as your life is heading in to different directions ... same as when you leave high school, going to college, coming back nothing is ever the same. Different maturity levels of friends also plays in to it. As you grow older people just go through stages, or a cleaning out of the closet mode, what works and what doesn't, who are friends & not, things or people get slowly shuffled out of the picture and attraction toward others with the same likes, interests, etc.

I typically head out to lunch around 11:30 so no 'walk by invitations' to go out to eat come my way. I go to the gym. Most people who know me understand thats my agenda. I do Friday lunches like once a month with co-workers or friends. But still, I order to my liking ...

Consistency is the key. Once they see you are in this to stay ... your true friends will either be impressed & join along ... or back off and just nod in approval.

stay focused

Even your family comes around eventually - it just may take awhile. I've been training for ten years, and my Mom still cringes when she sees my abs. In her opinion, women can have strong personalities but not strong bodies. Luckily, I live 3000 miles away from her, so I don't have to deal with it on a daily basis.

The rest of my family is pretty proud of me, and I'm working on Mom. I've made a photo album for her of my competition pics, and I add to it every time I go home. She's going to see it one way or the other. :-)

Reminds me of the quote...

"Don't explain yourself. You friends don't need it, and your enemies won't believe it."

Excellent quote...

SW- you are not the only one, it happens to me all the time. People think your stuck-up or "obsessed" as they ALWAYS call it.. and you say yep! I'm am obsessed to bad you can't be. But really everyone on here is totally right..

If these are your friends then you can come to some kind of middle ground where you still can spend some "qulity time" together. Now if there time is drinking,all-nighters, eating... You need to ask THEM WHY is it that we need to do that to be friends? WHY ARE YOU (friends) A HEARTLESS BITCH/ASSHOLE? That you can't find another activity to do with me so that we both win?

 Excellent point! Why I often will negotiate with my fat lazy piece of shit friends (nothing against them though) and they'll usually agree on activities such as watching football and hunting strange. Of course I usually get most of the strange! :spin:

none of my friends understand already and im not even that deep into this stuff yet.

some will come to the gym with me with good intentions but they all just want to bench and curl 3x a week and dont even want to think about diets

...I just abuse myself differently than they do.
EXCELLENT!!

These people who complain about bodybuilding folk being heartless, self-absorbed, obsessed, etc. have obviously never met horse people!

Talk about a sport that requires extensive training, dedication, time, equipment, and not to mention lots of $$$, I doubt any other sport comes close. The horses always come first, before kids, spouse, friends, etc.
