Is it ok to have a cheat day?

some really good trainers say it is ok to have a cheat day at least once a week.....is this really true?

I mean, most of us would love to have some pizza here and there, no?

If your diet is going good and you are being careful, then when is it ok to have a little bit of a cheat? or should you not cheat at all?

How do you keep yourself motivated not to cheat if that is the case?

If you do cheat, what do you eat?

yeah its fine but i would do it once every 2 weeks. Dont over do it either btw.
On my cheat days i have either pizza or peanut butter on a bagel or a lolly pop

meals like pizza and penut butter on a bagel can be implimented into a diet designed to build mass. sure its not all clean but that doesnt make it bad. if you want to grow your going to have to bring in the cals clean or not. the health factors are a whole other story.

If your gonna go, go big son! The whole point of having the cheat meal/day is to keep you from flipping out mentally from the stress of dieting and some say it tricks your body into thinking its getting lots of food again so it kicks your metab in overdrive. I'd argue on the latter if your eating 5-6 times a day.

I hear you man...

I had a super strict diet for months on end for a fight I had last year...then when the fight was over, all I wanted to do was drink and eat, lol.

i'd say that a cheat meal it's fine but not a cheat day, i got all ready used to eat clean to the point that i don't crave for anything other than what it is on my diet, but sometimes my wife makes me eat a pice of cake on someone's birthday !lol!

Shoot for a cheat meal as your last meal of the day, rather then a whole day to cheat, when cravings will kick in. Unless ofcourse you're on a CKD, in which 24 hour carb reload is vital. For the first 4 hours of that, you can gget away with a nice big pizza. As long as it all fits into your daily macro's, its all good.
