I think it's okay as long as you are in a private guest bedroom. I mean, if I have friends over and they stay in the spare room it's almost expected. On the couch in the living room it's a little rude simply because anyone can walk in on you.

That's why I always make sure if I'm staying overnight for a party I have a room reserved.
