Is Dextrose plain sugar?

Is Dextrose plain sugar? i read the label on the dextrose i bought and the number of carbs equaled the amount of sugar. Is there a significant difference?

sugar= sucrose
dextrose= glucose

dextrose is the simplest sugar and causes a large insulin spike- good for post workout

Go to the bulk food store and ask for "CORN SUGAR" it's dextrose!!!
