Hi everyone! I've just recently come across this board, and was delighted to find a board that had a forum for women. I've been soaking up all the information for a few days straight, and finally decided to jump in.

I'm 33, a SAHM to sons ages 4 and 1. My husband just bought us a gym membership about 2 months ago, and in the last two weeks I've gotten into free weights and body building. I started out only in the womens room and doing a few of the circuit machines. It took a personal trainer 4 weeks to coax me out into the main floor, and now I *LOVE LOVE LOVE* it. I was so afraid to venture over to the free weights and hammer strength area, and now that's pretty much where I stay. Sometimes I feel like an idiot lifting my teeny tiny weights, but for the most part everyone else ignores me, rather than jeers at me LOL.

My goal now is to do my first competition within a year. I have a lot of body fat to lose and lots of muscle to gain, so we'll see.

I started visiting the boards because my husband wants to do a Winny cycle and I knew nothing about it. I'm very anti-drug, but open minded, and wanted to see what the deal was with it.

I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone. There are few women at my gym, and my fellow mom's group members all want to just do the aerobics classes and machines... so I end up working out by myself all the time. No one really wants to hear all about my diet in real life. LOL.

:wavey: welcome to Elite girlfriend!!!

Welcome! I get where you're coming from! Especially with feeling funny about not being able to lift much yet-- but everyone has to start somewhere. I bet you'll be amazed by how much stronger you'll be with a little time! That good part is that you're out there doing the best thing you really can for yourself (down with the cardio bunnies).

I think we can all relate to most people in our real lives not being up for discussing diet/training. It's so nice to be able to come here to share and learn from everyone else!
