I was 235 a few years ago, dropped to 185 by doing a lot of cardio activities (jogging, stairmaster,...) and was also weight-lifting. I stopped training in the last 7-8 months and went back to 195.

Since I now have the time to get back doing some exercises,
I bought some equipments for my basement.. I bought myself some 'creatine' and started weight-lifting (three weeks ago). I'm now at 200. I don't really care about the numbers but I would like to lose some fat around my belly. My arms and shoulders are getting great but I need to slim my waist.

Can I expect to loose a few pounds by lifting weights only or do I have to go back with a cardio routine.

When I was at 185, the fat was going away but my muscles werent growing.

I was weight-lifting around six times/week and doing cardio 1h½ each day.

I'm 5'10 & 35.

Thanks for your input

You lose weight by creating a calorie deficit by diet and/or cardio and training.

I find that to take off fat, I need to have my diet sorted and do cardio.

I can maintain my bodyfat levels with just weight-training.
