I might not be a mod but....

And the problem is most guys of that age think "I'm different, I'm the 0.1%...I have the genetics...I have the drive!"
Its part of the whole 'won't happen to me' complex that comes with not having fully developed frontal lobes....I know cuz I've been that guy, as I'm sure a lot of us here have been.
So while we won't be able to stop everybody from doing stupid shit, hopefully we can stop a few.

the thing is, you don't see guys posting on here that they did gear in their teens and f'ed themselves up b/c they will never know if they were supposed to grow a few more inches or you won't hear an 18 y/o bragging about blowing-out his pec/bi b/c he was lifting way over what his tendons/ligaments could handle.

The problem is the guys who have really adopted the BB lifestyle--it's the kid who want some miraculous gains for Spring Break (tons of gear + copious tequila) and wind-up looking yellower than Bart Simpson.

Yep I'm part of the 99.9% lol

the chances of being on the Mr Olympia stage are less than a high school QB making it in the NFL. I don't care how early you start throwing a football, its not gonna make a difference. Tom Brady made it because the Pats starting QB went down to an injury, if not for that he might not even be in the NFL today. Kurt Warner was bagging groceries and somehow found himself a starting NFL qb cause of a fluke injury in preseason to Green, he then led his team to the super bowl that very year. you need genetics, luck, an opportunity and a lot more. Warren Moon didn't even get a shot in the nfl cause of the color of the skin and he was perhaps the best pure passer in nfl history. so not even genetics will get you there in all situations. and then there was a QB for the Benglas i think in the 70's who was highly touted, the dude could have been the best ever.. but he took a hit and hurt his shoulder. they go in for surgery and fucked him up more and he was never the same after that. so now if you have the opportunity, have the genetics, you still have to avoid Mr. Injury. its like the odds are overcoming all that are 1 in a billion

any teen hoping to be on the Mr Olympia stage, play in the NBA or NFL had better have a backup plan. a very realistic back up plan

THIS!!!! This needs to be emphasized so much! Study something useful, learn a trade....something so you can support yourself, your (maybe?) future family, and support your bodybuilding lifestyle. Then you can do it, and enjoy it for years!

Not to discourage anybody....aim for the stars! but still plan for life.

Very true I can't stress it enough not everyone is going to be a pro bodybuilder and using gear at a young age is not the way to go i found out the hard way and i hope the young guys on this forum read this and take all the knowledge that's here to stay away for a long time because its not worth the risk

yea but most people wont, if they are thinking about using at an early age.but i agree

Exactly! The majority of people will not wait until a certain age to use roids (which is up for debate when to start anyway), so I say educate them instead of spewing out unsolicited commentary about the adverse effects of early steroid use, which usually falls on deaf ears.

We might be able to salvage some of the wreckage if we educate people how to properly use roids (if there is such a thing?) Goddamn kids these days :).
