I guess it would depend on the volumetric capacity of the individual's vuvla.

Honestly, I would tell him about the vomit on the couch thing. He deserves to know, so he could have a choice as to whether he wants to sit there or not.

I HOPE it wasn't made of fabric, because vomit will stain it and you'll NEVER get the smell out.
